A valuable reminder to take our experiences of the past and learn from them.

We’re taught to try to live life without regret. Kathryn Schulz makes a powerful and moving case for embracing our regrets instead of kicking ourselves over them.
“If you want to live a life free of regret, there is an option open to you. It’s called a lobotomy.” – Kathryn Schulz
Today’s courage journal card is about regret and based on this quote:
“Things without remedy, should be without regard; what is done, is done.” – William Shakespeare
I would love to hear your comments about what you got out of the video!

Stop for a moment and imagine a glass of water. It’s pure and clear. When poured, it just flows freely. Does your mind operate like that? If so, you are extremely fortunate. For others like myself, it’s more like that fire hydrant that’s burst open and thoughts are just gushing out all over the place! Hey, look at the positive side to that – everything gets watered and flourishes… even if just temporarily.
All fun set aside, I think we’d all prefer to flow like water from a tap than having our thoughts bursting out of control and all over the place, right? So why not set goals to help achieve this? Make a list each day that’s not overwhelming or unrealistic. Check off each task as you go. Take a break after each task if necessary, even if it’s just to step outside and look around. Take a deep breath and appreciate the garden, pretty blue sky or what ever there is around you. Appreciate the goodness in it and then go back to your task list.
There’s a calming quote by Bruce Lee to get you started on today’s journal card:
Click above to download today’s courage journal card and write your thoughts and feelings. I find that by writing a few thoughts and experiences and describe how I was feeling that day helps me a lot to better understand myself. I keep them in a 4×6 album to reflect on them. It’s like a diary, only the quotes give me a starting point for what to think about.
Wishing you a focused and fulfilling day,
